ORCAB wants everyone to be able to learn about our work and get involved, whatever their abilities or the technology they use.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA — the standard referenced by European accessibility requirements such as EN 301 549.
What we have done
- Readable typography and text and background colours chosen for strong contrast.
- A “Skip to main content” link and a visible focus outline for keyboard users.
- Navigation menus that can be opened and closed with the keyboard and closed with the Escape key.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” setting: automatic slideshow movement and scroll animations are switched off.
- Layouts that adapt to mobile, tablet and desktop screens and to browser zoom.
Compliance status
This website has not yet been independently audited. Based on our own review, we believe it is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA because of the known limitations listed below.
Known limitations
- Volunteer signature: the volunteer form requires a signature drawn with a mouse, stylus or finger, which may be difficult for some users. If this is a barrier for you, please contact us and we will help you apply another way.
- PDF documents: some documents, such as the clean cooking concept paper, are provided as PDF files that may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
- Images: some images do not yet have fully descriptive text alternatives.
- Third-party content: embedded maps, videos and the reCAPTCHA check are provided by Google and may not meet all accessibility requirements.
